I’m Katy Brown. I am truly a blessed 17 year old with a wonderful family. I have one biological sister and a 6 year old brother and sister from China and I’m the oldest of them all. I am homeschooled and am so thankful for my parents seeing the blessing in home education. My Dad is the pastor at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wilkesboro, N.C. Home is my favorite place in the world and my favorite people are my family. I love reading Scripture and looking into the heart of God. The Lord has gifted me with a love for music. I would sing and play the piano or guitar all day, as well as act and perform on stage. I also have a desire for mission work. I like to read deep, thought-provoking books and novels, especially ones about the Victorian era! I enjoy history and learning from the past. I love the seasons, from the fresh flowers in the spring to picking juicy blackberries in the summer, to the fall when I play in the leaves with my little siblings. But my favorite time is at Christmas, with pumpkin pies and the sweet smell of snowy air and sledding down the big hill behind our house. I enjoy having people to our home and fellowshipping with other believers. Strangely enough, I greatly enjoy making people laugh! As you can see, God has blessed me in more ways than I can count and I am so thankful for all that He has given me. I pray that I can be an instrument that He can use. I am nothing, but He is everything!

I am Taylor Church and I am 16 years old. I am the daughter of Craig and Kim, a sister to Leah, and hopefully, a sister to two Asian brothers sometime in the future! (Click here for more info…) I have a passion for “home” and a love for simple things. I have a fondness for old houses, gardens, front porches with rocking chairs, snow gently falling, families gathered around the table, and the Blue Ridge Mountains. I am drawn to the “simple” blessings of life we often take for granted. Speaking of blessings, I am very blessed to be homeschooled and love it dearly! I also enjoy sewing, cooking, playing my violin, mandolin, and psaltery, gardening, graphic design, photography, reading, and the list goes on! I hope to fulfill God’s plan for my life, as a young lady, by following the Titus II example of becoming a wife and mother. “That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.” (Titus 2:4-5) In the meantime, I am growing closer to my Savior and each day, I desire to please Him. I am very honored and count it a privilege to sing and “…praise him with the stringed instruments…” (Psalm 150:4b) As believers, we are indeed, forever His!

Hi! My name is Kandace Brown. I am 13 years old and I am homeschooled. I love the violin and have played it for 3 years and have loved every bit of it. I have one biological sister and a five year old brother and sister. My Dad is the pastor at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. I am so thankful to have a great and supportive family!!! Some of the activities I enjoy are dancing, reading exciting or mystery type books, cooking and baking, going on cool autumn walks through the woods, and going on mission trips. I am a clogging fanatic, I love swimming, and singing harmony to anything and everything. But most importantly, I love the Lord and I love spending time with him everyday! The Bible says in Psalm 150:3-5. “Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.” The reason God put us on this earth is to make His praise glorious in everything we do. My favorite season is fall. I love it when the leaves start to turn and it starts getting cool. When I hear the word "fall," I think about cool days, jumping in big mountains of leaves, and Thanksgiving turkey! It really gets you in the mood for Christmas! I love the colors pink, green, and blue! My favorite basketball team is the North Carolina Tar Heels! I am such a blessed person and I feel honored to know God as my personal Lord and Savior!

My name is Leah Church and I am 12-years-old and in the 8th grade. I am homeschooled and it is such a blessing to have my Mom not only teach me math, history, science, etc., but more importantly, teach me biblical principles and truths. My favorite subjects are history and math and I also like to read. My favorite books are the “Left Behind Kids.” I also like to read mysteries and the Lamplighter books. I absolutely love playing basketball. I play for a homeschool team called the "Surry Runnin' Patriots." My positions include point guard and shooting guard. Also, I am the biggest Carolina Tar Heel fan ever! Go Heels!! (Sorry Duke fans!) I also enjoy playing the guitar and banjo. Some other interests I have are hunting and fishing. I have killed five deer and have caught several trout in my lifetime. My favorite time of year is the Christmas season!! I love the cool weather, Christmas trees, food, fellowship and most of all celebrating Jesus’ birth! I strive to live for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, each and every day, and long to grow closer to Him. I thank the Lord for my family, salvation, and all the other many blessings He has given me!
